The Triangle Jewish Genealogical Society(TJGS) is proud to participate in the Non-Profit Volunteer Cooperative Initiative of the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies and JewishGen, Inc's JOWBR to identify Jewish burial sites and interments throughout in the world.

TJGS members are indexing Jewish cemetery sites in the Triangle (Read more about this international effort here) and also obtaining and organizing information about synagogue memorial plaques

around North and South Carolina.

Memorial plaques typically include the birth and death year and father’s name that helps people trace their Jewish ancestors and relatives.Every plaque photographed and indexed is another clue to an ancestor not lost. Read about the memorial plaque project here.
